Earlier this month, J&R Machine, along with more than 114,000 industrial decision-makers, traveled to Chicago to attend the 2014 International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS). IMTS is the premier manufacturing technology show in North America and provides a great opportunity to network with other manufacturing professionals and learn about new technology. Results from this year’s Modern Machine Shop’s Top Shops Benchmarking Survey were also presented at IMTS. J&R Machine was named an Honors Program winner for shop floor practices and participated in a Q&A with visitors following the presentation.

J&R Machine also took advantage of IMTS by proudly purchasing an additional Horizontal (NHX4000) to help with capacity and grow new business. This accurate horizontal machining center, made by DMG / Mori Seiki, delivers both rigidity and accuracy, with 18 percent lower power consumption compared to similar, more conventional models. Its powerful pallet clamping force provides maximum stability, while the machine’s high-output spindle makes for rapid metal-removal rates. The Horizontal (NHX4000) has a rapid-traverse rate of 60m/min and a pallet indexing time of 1.49.
