JR Machine Employees Give Thanks and Give Back with Food Drive
When we think about Thanksgiving, many of us typically envision happy families gathering around tables covered in turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. But for some in Wisconsin, it can be difficult to make that picture a reality. According to Feeding America, the nation’s the largest hunger-relief organization, one in ten people in our state struggle with hunger. That’s why for the fifth year in a row, JR Machine employees came together for a Shawano area food drive to help ensure that local families could put food on the table this past November.
“Helping to improve the quality of life in our community is an important part of JR’s Purpose and Vision,” says Tim Tumanic, president of JR Machine. “We’re proud of our team’s efforts to provide resources so families could gather together and host a meal with loved ones on Thanksgiving.” As part of the Shawano area food drive, JR Machine staff brought in food items like turkeys, dessert mixes, canned vegetables, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and other ingredients typically used for Thanksgiving meal preparations.
The items were donated to the Shawano Area Food Pantry and Resource Center (SAFPARC). SAFPARC provides food for around 400 families in the Shawano area during the week of Thanksgiving. JR Machine thanks its employees for their generous donations and wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
