At JR Machine, building the future of manufacturing starts with investing in people. As precision components become more complex and industries like space exploration continue to advance, the demand for skilled machinists has never been greater. That is why JR Machine is proud to introduce a new CNC Scholarship Program designed to create opportunities, develop talent, and strengthen the next generation of manufacturing professionals.
This program is more than financial support for education. It is a career-launching pathway that combines classroom learning, hands-on experience, mentorship, and long-term employment in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
A Career Path, Not Just a Scholarship
The JR Machine CNC Scholarship Program is built for students who want more than a traditional education experience. It is designed for individuals who are motivated, curious, and interested in turning technical skills into a long-term career.
Through this program, JR Machine is offering up to full tuition coverage for the CNC Machining Program at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College while students work part time at JR Machine. Participants gain real-world experience alongside experienced machinists, learning the skills needed to succeed in advanced manufacturing.
In return, JR Machine asks for a commitment. Students who complete the program agree to work full time at JR Machine for a minimum of two years following graduation. This commitment ensures continuity, growth, and a strong foundation for both the employee and the company.
Why JR Machine Created This Program
Manufacturing is evolving quickly. Automation, advanced CNC equipment, and high-performance materials demand skilled professionals who understand both technology and craftsmanship.
JR Machine has always believed in developing talent internally. Many of our leaders and skilled team members have built long careers here by learning, growing, and advancing within the company. The CNC Scholarship Program is a natural extension of that philosophy.
By investing in education and training early, JR Machine is helping students enter the workforce prepared, confident, and ready to contribute. At the same time, the company is strengthening its ability to support customers in industries like aerospace, defense, energy, and space exploration.
Program Overview
The CNC Scholarship Program offers two openings for students interested in advanced manufacturing. Selected participants will enroll in the CNC Machining Program at NWTC while working part time at JR Machine.
The program is structured to balance classroom learning with practical application. Students are not just learning theory. They are applying it daily on the shop floor, working with modern CNC equipment and experienced mentors.
Key elements of the program include:
- Partial or fully paid tuition for the NWTC CNC program
- Paid part-time employment at JR Machine during school
- Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art machining equipment
- Exposure to real production environments and aerospace-grade components
- Guaranteed full-time job placement after successful completion
Eligibility and Expectations
This program is designed for individuals who are serious about building a career in manufacturing. To be eligible, applicants must meet several requirements.
Students must enroll in the NWTC CNC Machining Program and be able to work part time while attending school. They must demonstrate a strong work ethic, professionalism, and a genuine interest in manufacturing.
A key expectation of the program is the two-year full-time employment commitment after graduation. This ensures students gain meaningful career experience and allows JR Machine to continue investing in training, mentorship, and advancement opportunities.
This is a long-term partnership built on mutual commitment and shared goals.
Earn While You Learn
One of the most impactful aspects of the CNC Scholarship Program is the ability to earn income while gaining education. Students work part time at JR Machine throughout the program, allowing them to build skills, confidence, and financial stability at the same time.
Graduates complete their CNC training with little to no school debt and step directly into a full-time role. This combination of education, income, and job security creates a strong foundation for long-term success.
Participants also gain early exposure to workplace expectations, teamwork, and problem-solving in a professional manufacturing environment. These experiences are invaluable and often set scholarship participants apart early in their careers.
Hands-On Experience in a High-Tech Environment

JR Machine operates a clean, modern manufacturing facility equipped with advanced CNC machines, automation, and inspection systems. Scholarship participants work alongside skilled machinists who understand both the technical and practical sides of the trade.
Students are exposed to:
- CNC machining processes used in aerospace and space exploration
- Advanced materials such as superalloys and precision-grade metals
- Quality control practices including inspection and documentation
- Engineering support and Design for Manufacturability concepts
Learning happens every day, not just in the classroom. This environment helps students build confidence quickly while developing skills that are in high demand across the manufacturing industry.
Mentorship and Long-Term Growth
The CNC Scholarship Program is supported by experienced team members who are invested in helping students succeed. Mentorship plays a key role in the program, providing guidance, feedback, and encouragement throughout the learning process.
JR Machine has a strong history of promoting from within. Many employees have advanced into leadership, technical, and supervisory roles after starting in entry-level or training positions. The scholarship program reflects that same commitment to growth and opportunity.
For motivated individuals, this program is the first step toward a long-term career with room to advance.
