JR Machine Breaks Ground on New Expansion

Home » Articles » JR Machine Breaks Ground on New Expansion

Contract manufacturer JR Machine broke ground in early July on its latest facility expansion. The 1.7-million-dollar investment includes a 9,000 square foot addition to JR Machine’s current manufacturing space to accommodate four new Mori Seiki NLX2500 multi-tasking CNC machines. Machines will be relocated to follow JR Machine’s cellular manufacturing layout used throughout the shop.

With the new expansion, JR Machine’s climate-controlled manufacturing facility will total 26,000 square feet, with an additional 5,000 square feet of cold storage. The company expects the expansion and equipment purchases to result in the creation of several new jobs, enabling JR to react to customer needs in a timely manner.

Founded in 1992, JR Machine is a leading provider of manufacturing solutions for complex parts for OEMs and some of the largest names in the oil & gas, fire protection, hydraulics, defense, medical technology, heavy equipment, and auto racing industries. The company has seen steady growth in recent years and last expanded its facility in 2016.

“This investment in our operations further demonstrates our commitment to providing extraordinary service and part manufacturing solutions to our customers worldwide,” said JR Machine president Tim Tumanic. “JR Machine is well positioned for sustained growth, and we are thrilled to continue to provide stable, high-paying manufacturing jobs in the Shawano area.”

Tumanic expects the full expansion project to be completed by December 2018.
